Spiders

There is a myth that says you can’t kill spiders with pesticide. The truth is that many traditional pesticides are what you call residuals, meaning they leave a residue when sprayed which insects walk through thus getting it on their legs, then after they lick their legs and other insects groom them they ingest the chemical.

The problem with residuals is that the spiders walk on extremities called tarsal claws and don’t lick their legs. So, they can walk through a residual insecticide and not really be affected. When exterminating for spiders, most companies using residual technology will usually tell you they can’t kill spiders, but they can exterminate their food supply which will hopefully cause them to leave. The problem with this is that a Brown Recluse Spider can live six to eight months without food. So, getting rid of their food supply will only increase the number of spiders one sees, because now they are having to come out and search harder for their food.

Another problem with exterminating spiders with a residual is that a Brown Recluse Spider that hasn’t eaten in months will have more venom in its system because it hasn’t injected it into prey and this can cause the bite it inflicts to humans to cause more damage then if it had eaten recently.

Is there a chemical that works on the Brown Recluse Spider

Yes, I use a combination of a residual and a microencapsulated pesticide. The microencapsulated technology is a pesticide that contains microscopic water balloons of pesticide. There are about 10,000 per square inch and they work with static electricity. The same way that youngsters rub a balloon to the wall and it make it cling to their hair, these microscopic balloons cling to the exoskeleton (outer shell) of the Brown Recluse Spider and as the spider moves the plates on his exoskeleton move and the shift will burst the microscopic balloons of pesticide releasing it into the spider's system.

Disclaimer

Unfortunately, due to the nature of brown recluse spiders and other common household pests, Brown Reclusinator Pest Control cannot be held liable for anyone incurring injury from these pests following a home treatment. In the event that a bite would occur, Brown Reclusinator Pest Control recommends the individual seek immediate medical attention, apply ice to the area, and elevate the body part. If at all possible, bring the spider or other pest along for proper identification. This can aid the physician in administering the proper care.
